Options for the five year old child

1. Kindergarten class - Red Hill Christian School offers a full-day class from 8:30am to 3:00pm, or a morning session from 8:30am to 12:00pm.  Before and/or after school care is available. If you have had a successful preschool experience and are 5 years old before September 15th, you MUST register to reserve your place and include the fee - $80. before March 15th, $100. after that date. This class is taught by a certified teacher and has a limit of 21 children with a full-time morning assistant (Room 23). We have plans to offer Kindergarten at both Deep Creek & Red Hill campuses sometime in the future.  Bus transportation is available to and from our school via your local school district's transportation department.

2. Modified Kindergarten class - This is for children who are 5, or nearly 5 and are believed (by parents and RHCS teachers) to need another year before entering kindergarten, especially our kindergarten class. These children receive more than a pre-K class in literacy and academic work, but less than our regular kindergarten class. We use a modified curriculum that includes "Let's Find Out" - a weekly news magazine designed for the kindergarten age child that offers literacy, current events, science and social studies themes. This class also does journaling, math and letter sound work pages throughout the year.

• All kindergarten programs are five days a week.

• Some children in this class attend morning only: 8:30am - 12:00pm (school)

• Most attend full-day (8:30am - 3:00pm) with child care before and after school. In the afternoon, 12:00-3:00pm, these children receive supervision for lunch and lunch recess, followed by a 15 minute "quiet book and rest time", and then kindergarten enrichment activities supervised by one of our staff members.

• There may be a morning teacher and a different afternoon teacher until closing at 5:30pm.

3. Public School Kindergarten students -

• Bus transportation is provided to and from our Red Hill campus for both Marlborough                   Elementary School and Hereford Elementary School kindergarten classes.

• Hereford & Marlborough Elementary Schools: AM or PM kindergarten placement is determined by the Upper Perkiomen School District. Red Hill Christian School will provide child care for kindergarten students enrolled in either session. Please notify us immediately upon learning your child's placement (AM or PM session).

• AM Public Kindergarten: Children who attend the AM session will eat lunch at RHCS around 12 noon. These children will join our Room 23 kindergarten program and receive enrichment activities in the afternoon.

• PM Public Kindergarten: Children who attend the PM session will eat lunch at RHCS around 11:30am prior to boarding the bus for the public school. These children receive kindergarten enrichment in the morning and may receive some special classes, such as P.E.
